Over the past several years, MPAC has been undergoing a complete corporate reorganization with a view to capitalizing on niche industrial opportunities that would establish a stable cash flow for the Company and enhance shareholder value.
With this objective in mind, the Company has adopted the following Mission Statement as its corporate objective:
“To seek out and capitalize upon quality niche industrial opportunities which bring the greatest sustainable growth potential to the Company and enhance shareholder value.”
After reviewing several potential opportunities that could, perhaps, accommodate its above Mission Statement, the Company identified Turkey to be a net importer of high BTU (or "kilocalorie" or "Kcal/kg") coal, whilst housing abundant reserves of domestic coal – albeit of low grade. In addition, Turkey has no known domestic, economic reserves of either oil or natural gas. Amidst this scenario, the country is having to consume its precious foreign exchange reserves to import a commodity, which, for all intents and purposes, is a necessity, to meet its energy requirements for both domestic and industrial uses.
With a focus on this observation, MPAC decided to seek out a technological process that would upgrade these low-grade Turkish coal reserves into a higher calorific value product that could be used as an import substitution, and thereby benefit the domestic sector of the economy through mobilization of its domestic reserves of low grade coal, provide employment and save on the country’s precious foreign exchange reserves.
